 Hypodermic needle model 1) Read this  Mail Online article about the effects of  video games . How does this article link to the hypodermic needle model? The hypodermic needle suggests the media injects information into the audience like a hypodermic needle and therefore can have a dangerous effect on us. This article is a prime example of the hypodermic needle theory as it convinces the reader that people who constantly play violent video games "assume the world was hostile and react aggressively". The reason why this is classed as the hypodermic needle is because the media text is using so called facts and figures to portray violent video games such as 'Call of Duty' and 'Condemned 2' to have an aggressive and negative effect on people. I would say I am struggler and an aspirer. this is because I am unorganised and leave my work to the very last minute. I would say I am an aspirer because I like having nice clothes and materialistic things.

1) Type up your feedback in  full  (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential). WWW; Q2 and Q4 show your potential in media. You understand the texts and some of the theory. If you can apply this consistently, you will make real progress.  EBI; Some major concerns. Mixing up denotation and connotation is a fatal mistake in media. You clearly need to urgently revise/learn genre. For 20 mark questions, you need much more depth... a short essay rather than 3 paragraphs. 2) Read the  mark scheme for this assessment  carefully. Identify at least  one  potential point that you missed out on for each question in the assessment. Question 1 - Todorov: disequilibrium suggested by gun; character eye line looking off-screen suggests danger or threat; tagline references ‘survival’; no hint of new equilibrium. Question 2 -  Similarities: urban setting; single (male) character dressed for urban environment; similar composition and colour scheme
