Magazine practical task PLANNING


1) Plan your main flash - this is the main cover story that links to your central image.  

The main story line to my magazine is the model who is a successful beauty blogger and she exposes all her secrets on what is is like to be in that line of business and her top beauty tips for clear skin.

2) Plan the image you will need for the cover - model, costume, make-up, lighting etc. At this point, simply describe the image you need to capture.

 For the central image, my model will pose for a candid photo where she is smiling carelessly; she will face away from the camera and her hand will be in her hair. Her makeup will be done as she is a beauty blogger with a red lipstick to match the red and white theme of my magazine. 

3) Write the cover lines and any additional text you need for your magazine cover.

4) Sketch out your cover on plain A4 paper using your written planning. Take a photo of your sketch and embed it in your blogpost.

This is another university-level piece of academic writing so it will be challenging - but there are some fascinating ideas here regarding the changing representation of men and women in the media. MIGRAIN: Reading an image

1) Analyse this RBK 50 Cent advert using the key media language you learned today: denotation, connotation, colour, pose, framing, composition, size, type of shot, subject matter, setting, lighting. This advert consists of two images; the first one being an image of a black male rapper, '50 Cent' who is wearing a hat slanted to the side, a chain and a vest top, which are items that you would typically associate with 'gangsters' and criminals. The message that Reebok are trying to denote to the audience with the use the quote is that there is no second chance, so give everyday 100% because there may not be a tomorrow. Also that they are trying to help people who are involved in gangs, turn their life around and make a better life for themselves.
